Leah Fischer: Donating Time

Leah Fischer is a paralegal who works as an independent contractor in California. She’s also a volunteer who donated her time for two years to aid animals available for adoption and, at one point, animals impacted by oil spills through Hop-A-Long. She loves helping animals and spends as much time with them as she can.



At Hop-A-Long, Leah Fischer volunteered every Saturday at adoption sites in Oakland and Berkeley California. She also helped a key member of the organization care for a cat house in Berkeley, maintaining their living facilities and quality of life.

Leah Fischer: One-Time Intern at the DOJ

Leah Fischer once enjoyed the chance to intern at the Department of Justice – particularly within the Appeals, Writs and Trials office of the DOJ San Francisco Criminal Division. Between February and August of 2014, Fischer worked directly with and under the Deputy Attorney General Karen Bovarnick, where she was responsible for research, drafting briefs, reading transcripts, taking notes and preparing presentations.
